Connected Field Service

Turn Workiz into the backend for your AI receptionist

Nicecall™ handles phone conversations while Workiz remains the operational system for leads, jobs, scheduling, dispatch, and field-service workflows. Configured REST tools and Automation webhooks connect calls with the records and events your office uses every day.

  • Recognize existing leads and jobs with configured matching logic
  • Create new leads from phone calls after checking for duplicates
  • Convert qualified leads into Jobs at the appropriate stage
  • Create and update Jobs using supported fields
  • Launch immediate lead-response and post-job workflows
  • Reduce manual front-office data entry
Workiz Record Context

Keep Workiz Leads and Jobs distinct

A Lead is a prospective service opportunity that has not yet been converted into active work. A Job is the primary Workiz service record. A new caller does not necessarily need to become a Job immediately.

  • Search existing records before creating another Lead
  • Create or update a Lead while the inquiry is being qualified
  • Convert a Lead to a Job only when the customer is ready
  • Retrieve Job context for existing-customer questions
  • Use configured schedule and assignment data without claiming live availability
  • Recommended flow: search, create or update Lead, qualify, then convert
Workiz Use Cases

Connect calls with the right Workiz workflow

Configured API tools and Workiz Automation webhooks can support inbound service calls, rapid lead response, existing-job questions, scheduling communication, and post-service follow-up without treating every inquiry as an active Job.

  • Immediate New-Lead Follow-Up: a Workiz Automation sends a new-Lead webhook so Nicecall™ can call, qualify, and transfer or continue the configured workflow
  • New Inbound Service Call: gather customer and issue details, check for an existing Lead or Job, then create or update the appropriate record
  • Existing Job Question: retrieve available Job details to answer supported questions or transfer the caller to staff
  • Lead Conversion: convert a qualified existing Lead into a Workiz Job when the customer is ready to proceed
  • Job Confirmation / Reschedule: use a configured schedule-change Automation to start the appropriate customer communication
  • Estimate Follow-Up: use a supported Estimate Automation webhook for sales follow-up without claiming Estimate REST API access
  • Completed Job Follow-Up: use a configured completed-status Job Automation for satisfaction, review, referral, or service outreach
Developer API Setup

Connect Nicecall with the Workiz Developer API

Workiz offers a REST-based Developer API. The add-on must be enabled from the Workiz Feature Center or Marketplace, and Workiz provides an API token and API secret under Settings → Integrations → Developer. This is not OAuth or a native one-click Nicecall™ connector.

  • Securely configure the Workiz API token and API secret
  • Use only endpoints and fields supported by the current REST schema
  • Enable outbound HTTP POST webhooks through Workiz Automations
  • Configure Automation rules for supported Job, Lead, Estimate, or Invoice events
  • Limit functionality to account permissions and enabled Workiz features

FAQ

Common questions about the Workiz integration

Yes. Nicecall™ can connect to Workiz using the Workiz Developer REST API and outbound webhooks configured through Workiz Automations. The connection uses custom tools and workflows rather than a native one-click connector.

Yes. Workiz's official API supports creating Leads, so a configured Nicecall™ tool can create a Lead from information gathered during a conversation. Searching for an appropriate existing record first is recommended to reduce duplicates.

Yes. Workiz officially supports Job creation through its Developer API. A configured workflow can create a Job using supported fields, but Nicecall™ does not automatically know scheduling or dispatch availability unless that data and logic are separately configured.

Yes. Workiz's API explicitly includes a Lead-to-Job conversion operation. A configured workflow can use it once the Lead reaches the appropriate qualification or scheduling stage.

Yes. Workiz provides API operations for retrieving and listing Jobs and Leads, allowing configured search or matching logic to locate relevant records. Perfect caller-ID-only matching is not guaranteed.

Workiz provides Job assignment and unassignment API operations. A configured workflow can update assignments when appropriate dispatch logic has been established, but Nicecall™ does not independently choose the correct technician.

Yes. Workiz supports outbound webhooks through its Automation Center for rules based on Jobs, Leads, Estimates, and Invoices. An automation can send HTTP POST data to a configured endpoint and start an appropriate Nicecall™ workflow.

Yes. Workiz officially supports webhook actions inside Workiz Automations. These outbound HTTP POST actions are configured separately from generic REST API functionality.

No. The connection is configured through Workiz's Developer API, Workiz Automations and webhooks, and Nicecall™ custom tools or workflows rather than being presented as a native one-click Nicecall™ connector.

The Workiz Developer API add-on must be enabled, and appropriate API token, API secret, and permissions are required. Webhook workflows also require configured Workiz Automations. Availability depends on the Workiz account and enabled features.
